I think Linda was confused because the stats are out of date. She's finished three games - not one. |

Hi Jeff, not that it seems to be making a difference but you have danbar in more games than everyone else.

Yeah, I noticed he got in twice the number of games as anyone else, I will take an average of his finishes when it comes to making the semifinals.
I put him in the draw twice instead of Hagin
thank you for your help

Ok I have to admit, I'm annoyed now.
What should've happeend when the mistake was realized is a new draw/tournament was created. I thought I'd simply been missed out but someone else was in twice?!?!? The entire tournament should've been scrapped at that point.
In fact this happened with one of my Hacienda tournaments (the wrong instructions were given so basically a whole fresh set of games was created).
I was actually quite looking forward to being in the 3 player tournament (more than the 4 player). |

What should have happened is Jeff's apology should have been accepted in good grace, with thanks for the effort he is putting into running these and the Santiago tournaments.
There is no easy way to collate the entrants for a tournament, there is no easy way to pick up the results and keep a tally of the scores, there is no easy way to check that the individual games are set up correctly, but it all needs to be done, and kept on top of as the tournament progresses.
In fact it is perhaps surprising that the tournaments have tended to run so smoothly so far. However, if the organisers are to be castigated every time they make an error, there are unlikely to be as many tournaments to enter in future. |

Hagin,
I am sorry that I accidently put Danbar in the tourney twice instead of putting you in the tournament.
I did not notice this mistake until the tournament was well underway, I thought I had just missed you. It was too late to start the tournament over when I noticed that Danbar was in 8 games.
The only two solutions, one to play the tournament as is and to allow to play in a future tournament or to allow you into the semifinals with 8 others, but I would need the other players to agree to this. I would give you my spot in the semifinals, but I am in last place
I will pm the members in this tournament with this question.
p.s. I ran this tournament so that we could have a reef encounter tournament and so that everyone could have fun!!!

I accepted it when I thought I'd simply missed out through no fault of my own.
But someone is in the tournament TWICE. That goes beyond just affecting me. It clouds the entire thing for everyone participating. At that point a simple "Sorry, I stuffed up and we need to redo the fixtures" was the only reasonable course of action.

Actually, in the Hacienda tournaments entrants simply post the results to the tournament thread at which point the effort is pretty minimal (read a thread, put the names in an Excel spreadsheet, randomize them, and you're pretty much done).

Like I said: someone missing out is one thing. Someone being in the tournament twice is quite something else. |
