I was hoping I would but I had very bad luck on cards and auction distribution.
Lots of bad luck added up. I would've won if someone hadn't lowered the last offering with a card or if I had a change offering card of my own to play...
Then, when i saw I needed an extra point, I could have tried to hit the farmers card but instead I chose to see if Romendil would rather make points than take mine away and risked getting the 5 points for most pyramids... but he chose to take mine away Sad

And then it was almost lost unless one of the players (don't remember which) had both an 8 card AND a harvest increase which would place them in between us on money... that was a very long shot....

The worst part has just hit me...... This damn 1 point will now dethrone me from #1 in percentage of Amun-Re games won (min 10).... Crying or Very sad

For there to be a tie for the fifth (and final) slot Romendil needs to finish third in game 05.

If he plays one bonus card he will be 9 points behind the winner, if he plays 2, 6 points behind and 3, 3 points behind.

Vinny's points lost by score is -21.
Romendil's before game 05 is -15.

Hence one card Vinny goes through.
Three cards Romendil goes through.
Two cards we have a tie.

In an earlier tournament, I ranked the final table, where there was a similar tie using the result of the game between the two players involved.
In this case that is game 13, which will be unlucky for Vinny.

For future cases, I will use this method to split ties, followed by total points scored, and then by whoever finished their last game first (I know the final breaker is unfair, but I doubt it will be needed and it is no worse than flipping a coin).

It just remains for me to congratulate nuno on a superb performance, winning 4/5 games and missing out by 1 point in the last. A feat unlikely to be beaten for a long time Wink

Romendil managed to play only one power card, and may not even finish in third place. Hence the finalists are:

Vinny, efreeman, Kanga, nunocordeiro and Gaditus.

I note Vinny is on vacation until 10 Feb so there may be some delay in starting the final, but I have set it up anyway.

Congrats Gaditus on a perfect tournament. Not easy on 5 games of 5 players. Giving everyone an even change you'd have odds 1/(5^5) = 1/3125.

It was a very close game. By the final round, I had absolutely no idea who would win. And the only player that I felt was lagging a bit behind was Gaditus... (I know... I'm rubbing it... that's what you get for your alphabetical ordering system =P )
