|
|
Gaditus has inspired me to try to find a new version of Santiago for a tournament-
some ideas that I came up with
1. no use of extra canals
2. someone must use extra canals( so they would be used up in 3,4 or 5 turns)
3. no passing when it comes to bribes(have to bid 1)
4. team play(4 ppl)-
Please add your ideas or if you like one of mine let me know
thanks |

No bribing (ie CO gets choice of where to play for cost of 1)
Yellow counts double. When final score is calculated add value from bananas again.
Bonus for planatations with only your own workers. If size two score is doubled, if size 3 tripled etc.
Money in hand does not count for final score.
Money in hand counts double for final score. |

If you set up a tourney people will play, so just go for one.
From a practical point of view one of the last 4 I suggested may be easier to police, as you would just have to add/take something to/from the score at the end.
With the others you rely on players remembering that they must/can't do something which seems to be a problem. Someone has already stolen in the no stealing amun re 5 player tourney!
Possibly best to do 3 player in case the variant stinks - at least it would be over quicker. If it works well then you could do another with more players. |
