I've had an idea that I've been tossing around in my head for a while that I might give a try.

I'm proposing a Hacienda League (as opposed to my regular tournaments). This would be a round robin tournament with 8 players per League. Every player would play every other player once, over 7 rounds, in the standard format (ie 3 games on same map), and the ladder would be based on a win /loss ratio.

Each round would start on a Monday (for example), so you would only create 1 new match each week. So the League would run for 2+ months in the minor rounds.


The top 2 would then play a final match to decide who is the champion.

If I have more than one lot of 8 entrants (ie 16, 24), then I would run multiple leagues. I was thinking of making these graded - like English Football. The bottom two players of Division 1 would drop to Division 2, and the winners of Div 2 would move up.

Obviously players would drop in and out of the League over the 'seasons', I'd work out a way to allow for that.

Sign up if you are interested! As the league will run for some time there's no firm rules about absences needed. If you are away for a month that might be too long but otherwise it's ok.

I like the idea. I like the tournaments, but don't always have time to start 4 plus games at the time. Starting a game a week is a good pace. Might get others involved that don't normally play in the tournaments.

Sounds good, I've had plans of organising a league like this, but don't really have time for that. I'd be happy to play if you do this.

What were your plans about the league structure? Who plays who, where, when and how many times? I didn't quite get that from your message.

Basically I was thinking of running 7 rounds.

Each round, you play one opponent, 3 games on the same map.

Maps will be chosen via the same process (ie in a blind panic just before I create the tournament), or via suggestion from participants.

So it's a non knockout variation on the current 2 player format.

I'm quite open to suggestions about how to do it differently if people are interested. For example, we could use 3 maps in each round, one for each variant combination.
