Up to now I've only played in the 3 and 4 player tournaments. I generally enjoy the 4 player best. I actually don't think I've ever played a two player game of Hacienda, much less a tournament or league.

That said, this sounds like a great idea and too much fun to miss. So count me in too please. I guess we'll see what happens Very Happy

That's 40 players I have in total.

I'll puzzle over the precise format during the day today. 40 makes a convenient 5*8 player league. Based on what I said about this being a graded league I would separate players based on their previous Hacienda tournament (2 player and multiplayer) performances.

I was thinking of making the leagues bigger, say 12 players each, but with 40 that would be awkward.

If this is an ongoing endeavor, would you would have Tiers 1-5 with the ability to move up a tier or down a tier based upon a round robin record?

That's the general plan - top players will move up a league, bottom players down.

As new players (new to the league, not necessarily new to the game) would probably have to start from the lowest division, it might be a little frustrating if there are too many divisions to climb through.

Are the games going to be 2-player games, or what? I'd like to see different kind of games as this is going be one of a kind league, and it would be boring to play similar games all the time.

By the way, if the games are going to be 2-player games, could it be possible that there would be 'home' and 'away' player, and the 'home' player could pick the map and the variant?

Just brainstorming...

P.S. I would recommend to find a good structure before starting the league, instead of just starting with something and then fixing the flaws when the divisions are set and so on.
