The draw for this tournament is set out below.
In this tournament a final score of more than 25 counts as zero. Hence the idea is to score 25, or as close as possible to 25 without going over.
I will use a different scoring method as I want to concentrate on the score and not worry about tie breaks within games. So only the score will matter, pyramids/stones/(money) will not be used to decide 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. 6 points will be awarded for a win, 2 points for second and 0 for 3rd. Within games ties will share the points (eg tied 2nd/3rd get 1 point each).
In the final table 'points lost by' in games will be used to separate ties. The top 9 players will go forward to the semi final.
Draw:
25 or Bust! 01 danbar1963 kekeweb rseulow
25 or Bust! 02 kekeweb HighwayStar Pompkin

It looks like games 3, 23, 24 and 44 have not been set up.
Could someone in those games set them up as soon as possible. Please join and start them quickly.
If they have been set up under another name do let me know. |

Hmmm, there definitely seems to be potential for some pretty serious screwage in this variant . . . |

Just coming to the end of one of the games, should be an interesting finish. Its fun to try and rethink the strategy, and its taken me a couple of games to retool my thinking (i.e. the game where I got ambushed and ended up with 19 points in the first epoch -ouch), but I'm enjoying the challenge. |

I'm enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would. Serious screwage indeed.
I keep telling myself to aim for 23 points and leave some leeway, but whenever my turn comes around, I find myself adding to 25 exactly. Can't be helped |

I agree this is proving quite fun, although the first 4.5 round have seemed aimless, the end play is intriguing.
Might be even more interesting with 5 |

Game 44 set up. Sorry for the delay.
As for the play... it is interesting. I agree that trying to play the second half of a game when you already have 19 pts is quite challenging. |

I wanted to make sure that it was not too high that it would not come into play and not too low that it would be difficult to get under it. 30 would probably have been as good.

Perhaps there could be a bonus point for getting exactly 8 or 10 points after round 3, if we do it again. |
