We may as well wait ... set up the games when you get back!
... and pm me so that I don't have to keep checking for when they appear! |

Semi Final A:
Kanga defeated IBX 3-0
Semi Final B
koinski defeated Rebelslayer 2-1
Which means that the final of 2 player T4 is a repeat of the final of T2, with Kanga and koinski head to head on 117 (I hadn't realised I'd picked the same map for the final until just now..!).
Here's hoping for the same results....... |

So did the 2nd half of the bracket get scrapped? The voting indicated nearly 2/3 of the people were up for playing. |

Also, I never understood how it was going to be meaningless. Wouldn't the winner of the 2nd bracket have had a chance to win it all--he/she would have needed to beat the winner of the other bracket twice, that's all. |

I haven't bothered with the second half of the draw, only 1/3 of players were really keen on it and when a couple of games didn't get started I didn't follow them up.
One of the Round 2 games is still in progress as well. One of them never was started. Only one of the two Round 3 games was started.
In other words, it's not going to happen. I wasn't planning on playing off the winners against eachother; it wouldn't have been fair on the main tournament winner anyway. |

Also, the arrival of the 2 player League meant the losers half of this seemed even more meaningless. 28 of 32 players in this tournament signed up for the League. |

2 player tournament 4 final map 117
v0: I got control of the centre, with koinski's tiles not allowing him to compete and I ran away with the game
v1: read above but switch names over
v2: both of us were at least happy with our initial tile draws. I went for a large land mass in the middle of the map while koinski built around the edges and touched more markets sooner. In the late game I began hauling him in, and despite being blocked from a couple of markets (I think koinski touched one more than I did), I was able to use my superior income to score lots of water points and end up winning reasonably comfortably.
Somehow yet again I find myself winning these 2 player knockout tournaments!
I'm not sure if I'll run another, the League seems to have more than sated my desire to play 2 player for now. |

Is the league the only 2p Hacienda running nowadays? Is there any way to join in the league part way through or do I have to wait for it reach it's end point in the year?
I realise I can easily set up my own 2p games and invite opponents by pm, even those I may have only seen in other tourneys, I just wondered if there was any other interest in 2p games from other people not already in the league? |

I'm only going to run the 2p League, however the next league is not far away now. |
