I've noticed a few things that might be worth changing in the in-game message board function, as they leave it open to possible abuse or nefarious misuse.
1. It is possible top post VERY long messages (I accidentally posted the full text of a Kipling poem instead of the wee snippet I'd planned). An obnoxious player could post a 1000-line comment and annoy his co-players. Consider clipping line count or character count on posts? Consider adding a preview function?
2. The message board remains open to posts even after the game ends. This makes it a rather neat limited-audience BBS, but that probably isn't what y'all have in mind. Perhaps each player should be allowed only a limited number of post-game postings, or possibly disable new posts X days after the game ends?
I can even imagine a scenario where a group of people set up a game for the sole purpose of exchanging private messages through the message board. OK, I'm being WAY too paranoid here, I agree. But maybe the message board should be publically viewable by all logged-in users?
Lastly, my sincere thanks to the developers of this site for building such a really nifty toy. |
