Looking for something different in Hacienda?
Some of the maps on this site are quite small, and have very little land. When played under the normal rules, the land gets bought out and you end up with a very congested, drawn out, difficult to play game. generally these maps dont get played a lot.
I have previously suggested as a formal variant the ability to limit the number of land tiles of animals in the game to make these maps more playable. The admin here dont have time to code these changes even if they wanted to.
I propose to run this tournament on smaller maps, but with the extra rule where we place an artificial limit on the number of land tiles that can be bought. Instead of the normal 80 land tiles in the game, the rule would be that once there are only 30 land tiles left in the deck, no more land could be bought. Anyone who inadvertently buys an extra land would be penalised, say, 5 points.
I'll keep this to a 3 player tournament just to see how it works in practice.
Sign up here, make any suggestions.
The maps I have on my immediate list include:
52
58
153
138
349
any others? |

I'd like to try it. After a quick glance at available maps, it "looks" like these may be small and suitable:
239
335
352
384
I'm fairly sure I haven't played any of them, so I'm not positive they are small (the mini-maps can sometimes fool you). But they may be worth considering. |
