The variant is that points scored in round 3 will count double. When it comes to the end of the game I will add Old Kingdom points to the total score to determine positions. Other than that the usual tie breakers will apply.
Each player is in 4 games. For those who haven't played in a tournament before, anyone can set up a game. Please use the exact name, and put the players in the comments section. Opening two tabs and using cut and paste helps. The password to use is tournament.
The top 16 will go forward to the semi final. |

Although I'm not in the tourney, I'd like to comment the variant. I think Old Kingdom points are more luck-based than New Kingdom points, because the point differences in Old Kingdom are usually due to bonus cards. And scoring those cards takes some luck, because you get most of those cards when you already have 2 or 3 provinces. In the New Kingdom you have almost all the bonus cards you're ever going to have right at the start.
Nevertheless, the variant sounds very cool and interesting. |
