we have a problem on quarter-final D, since duplicate is being created

Game D3 comments section was written the same as D2 (flaviorj/Duda vs Gaditus/domster; when it should be: flaviorj/mbouzada vs Gaditus/Abbadon) this way Doomster joined that game along with Gaditus while the correct should be Gaditus/Abbadon.

I have recreated the game correctly now. I ought to be more careful, rseulow is looking for an excuse to disqualify me!

While I admire your consistency, I may be compelled to declare some of your World Cup matches to be forfeited.

The scoreboard for the Doubles Quarterfinal Round has been posted

kaa0s has not yet joined his three games and has not posted a turn in 9 days.

He told me on Sep 10 that he was moving to a new home and would have limited time/access but I have not heard from him since.

If Team Finland would like to find a substitute for him for these three games, please contact me.

As the captain of Team Finland, I let everyone know that Team Finland is looking for a substitute for kaa0s. Please let me know if you're interested and I'll pick one.

3 of the 4 Quarter Final matches have completed 3 of 6 games (Pair A was delayed due to the need to replace a player).

Teams Australia and Brazil have both opened commanding leads over their opponents, while New England has a wafer-thin edge over the Italians.

Does this mean team New England are still in?

Technically, none of the 8 QF teams have been eliminated yet.

A loss or tie for Texas and/or Albion will, however, knock them out now.

With one game to go in Group C, the Aussies have it clinched. New England and Brazil have completed wins in Groups B and D.

Due to the late start, Group A is only just crossing the half-way point now. Play faster, you Finns! Winter is coming!

Props to Albion though, for what is currently the largest number of pyramids of any team.

That photo seems more typical of Buffalo, NY. My Volkswagen disappeared under a snowdrift there after 3 feet of snow came down in 24 hours. The tires got frostbite and were never the same Very Happy

It would appear the last Doubles match for the Quarter finals finished on January 24th, finally, arond 3 weeks ago.

Does this mean we can now proceed to the semi-finals and move on with this now that team Finland are reduced to a smear on team Lancashire's foot? Very Happy

rseulow, let me know if I can be of any assistance to bring this thing to a close. Smile

First of all, my profoundest apologies to all and sundry for failing to stay on top of this (see link to new thread below).

This tournament has outlasted 2008 and so we have made an Executive Decision to close the season on the conclusion of the Quarter Final rounds. The results, therefore, are:

Team Brazil takes the Gold with an undefeated round, giving them an overall record of 10-1-1 for the tournaments.

Team Australia wins the Silver, finishing with a 9-1-2 record overall.

Team New England gets the Bronze, finishing 8-1-3.

Other total finishes: Finland: 8-2-2, Lancashire: 5-5-2, Italy: 4-4-4, Texas: 5-6-1, Albion: 3-6-3

Game Records have been posted on the Offical Thread

Please join me in congratulating our Finalists on a great season, and thanks once again to all those who participated.

A new thread on the possibility of a 2009 World Cup season has been opened: Please join the discussion!
