For the purpose of interim tables, I value a game in hand as worth more than a 2nd but less than a 1st, but this will not matter in the final table of course!

The average placing for the colours is:

Blue 2.3
Yellow 2.3
Purple 2.9

(scoring 1 for 1st, 2 for 2nd etc)

I always feel that purple is in trouble from the start, being surrounded, whereas the other colours have a board edge to give cover from one side. However, as you will see when my results come in - what do I know!

... which seems quite biased to yellow and against red. Whether it is a big enough sample to draw much from, I am not sure. The only player to win as red was rseulow - two accolades in one day - that's a bit much!

It's too much math, but with the small sample I wonder how much the info is biased by who played what color. For instance, for my games I was Red twice and Purple thrice. Further, won all three times as Purple, lost both as red (2nd place and an extremely non-competitive last place.

...which contains it's own irony, since as play started, a friend and I discussed that Purple probably had it worse off of the four colors, having no apparent safe border.
