Not many more games completed, but I have put another item of information in the table.
The figure in brackets immediately after the name is the highest division the player has been in to date.
I am not sure how interesting this information is (for those in division 1 it is obviously redundant!), and it may be cluttering up an already busy display, but I thought I would give it a try. Any comments?

I thoroughly expect to be crushed. But what the heck, I'll give it a try.

I did finally have a sort of epiphany with regards to strategy, but I came to this realization after watching the many many better players in this game.

I used to always hang back and collect as much cash as possible, going only for a minimal amount of points in the Old Kingdom. This makes for impressive wins when it works, but sometimes you just can't catch up.

It finally clicked that it's ok to take early point opportunities if you can get them cheaply enough. Three of my five wins were from maintaining an early lead.

Hey, I did the same in last season 5 plr league (which I won) I also noticed the elite players are not going to the new age with a lotf of cash and few points, but more likely with lotf points and decent cash. So say we all!!!! Razz

Yes, I have found this as well. When I started playing on SBW I mostly ignored old kingdom points and focused on money, but I had to go for points earlier on as well (while not being behind the middle of the pack on money). Often you just dont get enough opportunities to make a comeback.

Also the way that the pyramids get built in the old kingdom has a big effect on how important money is in the secodn half, it seems, but I havent figured out exactly how this works yet. I do have some general guidelines on it that I use.

Finally, fighting over most pyramids on a side in the old kingdom is death if you lose and bad if you win. I got killed in a couple games recently because I either went for it after someone else had started to, or had someoen do that to me. It really is terrible for both players involved, and the one who loses the battle probably wont place higher than 4th.
