I'm starting to think that we need a delay function in approving new accounts. This was in my inbox this morning:

But what if you have questions about the game? Or joining a game? Where do you ask?
I'm all for ending SPAM, but let's not throw the players out in the process. |

I've found it easy to start a game I wasn't sure of with the comments that I'm looking to learn a game and the players who have joined have been very forthcoming with my mistakes and how to play.
The last thing I want to do is throw players out - but there has been a lot of spam lately that bogs down the board. |

Would it be possible to disable PM abilities until a game is completed but leave the ability to post? |

I just got this pm. The site it references is a known distributor of viruses and malware.

ah, at last I've got some spam. I was beginning to feel left out. It was redirecting me to www .virus-total.net/detected/freduk. does that mean he's prepared my own customised virus for me? How sweet!

OK, I'll fess up: not only did I receive this spam, I FELL FOR IT!!!
Just got my computer back today (had to pay almost $100), free from the rogueware virus that link goes to. I was lucky that (a) I only lost my computer for a day and a half, and (b) no data was damaged.
That said, I think I'll be reading up at Wikipedia about the 'Security Tool' virus. That thing is pure evil.
