I noticed that since today, I'm not automatically logged in anymore on my computer and that the option "remember my log in" is disabled. Will this continue? |

This is really annoying - no longer does it take a couple of seconds to see if it's my move. |

Yes, at the very least if the cookies are going to expire they should last longer than they currently do (which seems to be for a few hours). They should last for a day. Or make them so that they last until the end of your session. Please. |

I suspect this may have something to do with the recent attack on the forum (and presumably the entire site). I had a situation last night where I logged in and was mostly through a turn when it logged me out and I was unable to log back in until much later. I'm guessing we'll have to put up with the inconvenience until everything is sorted out. |

The option to remember your login is still available if you logout, go to the forums main page, and scroll to the bottom of that page. _________________ ---------------

I'm not sure why this behavior has changed (I did upgrade the forum software, so perhaps there was a change to the default behavior), but as RyanMC mentioned, if you log out and then go to:
http://www.spielbyweb.com/forum/login.php
to log in, you can mark the "remember me" box and it will perform as you expected.
I'll add it to the main site login page shortly. |

mmm....just discovered another issue. I planned my move but was called away from the PC for about an hour. Came back and finished off and I got the message that I was not in the game. I had to log back in and had to re-input the moves. _________________ It's not the winning, it's utter annihilation of your opponant that matters. |

Hmm, I'm not sure what's going on but it doesn't seem to be acting quite right. Will investigate... |

Here is what should fix it for anyone still having problems:
The new version of phpBB handles cookies a bit different. If you logout, go to the forum main page, move to the bottom of the screen and login there using the "Remember Me" option you should have no future problems.
If you are having problems your browser more than likely hasn't cleared the old cookies and is just sessioning you into the site. Clear your cookies completely, shut down your browser, then go login via the forum page. You shouldn't have problems at that point.
The new machines session time is probably a bit quicker than than the old machine was, so those that aren't getting logged in via a static cookie are noticing the log out happening faster. _________________ ---------------

Hmmm...is there a reason that this was moved? It certainly doesn't make things easier... |

I am sure it was moved to annoy people, and had nothing to do with the forum being hacked a week or so ago. _________________ ---------------

Thanks for the sarcasm, Ryan. Didn't know that the site was hacked.
Have a great day. |
