OK, hoping to get 16 or preferably 32 players for this. Played in a straight knockout format.
Last 32 - best of 3
last 16 - best of 5
Quarter-Finals - best of 7
Semi-Finals - best of 9
Final - best of 9
Will set an entry deadline of 17th October (or when the 32nd place is filled). Draw will then be made and published here. The first named player will be responsible for setting up the games within his/her bracket of the draw & pm'ing his/her opponent with the password.
Games will be Advanced setting (select your provinces). Games can either be played back to back or simultaneously (preferable).

How do you intend to play the best of 5,7 and 9? - for me it would be too much to play 5,7 or 9 games at once against the same opponent!? |

In response to Be Afraid & Almond ralf's questions:
As there is no time limit on the tournament starting and finishing, you could play one at a time, 3 at a time or all games simultaneously - that's entirely at your discretion.
The idea behind more games in the latter stages is to reduce the 'random' effect of the Tower & hopefully ensuring that the very best players advance to the end, by use of tactics rather than getting lucky.
Glad to see your both expecting to get to the latter stages of the Tournament though
I'd anticipate the tournament taking approx. 6 months to run its course, with each round taking approx. one month to complete. If it all goes to plan, then I'll make it an Annual event.

I don't know what the matchup-s would be (random I am guessing) but just to add a little fun to the tournament I have one suggestion:
Can Bruce S play JamesParauda in the 1st round? These two have a rich and fun history and it would be great to see them go at it. I recognize most of the names on the list and have played against most if not all on th elist som random works for me. |
