I think it’s time to get the remaining 2nd Rounds started, and to do this we’ll double up the games:
Tphon will play both Brennus and Payton3434. Once we know the winner of Brennus and Payton3434 then their match with Tphon will count in the tournament (with the other one effectively a friendly).
Similarly Djura, Joshuaaaaaa, GamesOnTheBrain and srook221 will play 2 matches each. I’m not sure if I’ve explained it well, but basically the games below should be created and started, the safest way to qualify is to win your games ;
All games Map 387 Variant 1
Deathmatch 2 R2 B1 Djura (9), GamesOnTheBrain (8 )
Deathmatch 2 R2 B2 Djura (9), srook221
Deathmatch 2 R2 B3 Joshuaaaaaa, GamesOnTheBrain (8 )
Deathmatch 2 R2 B4 Joshuaaaaaa, srook221
Deathmatch 2 R2 G1 tphon (10), Brennus (7)
Deathmatch 2 R2 G tphon (10), Payton3434
I’ll issue the map info and confirm the draw for the next round on the weekend. |

With 2 more quarter finalists to be confirmed, it’s still possible for all 8 top seeds to qualify. IBX opponent is still a little while off being known, but judging from the second round, I’m sure when they play IBX they’ll catch up
Some interesting match-ups as the new players (well not so new now) match up against the more established players. I’ll be very surprised if the semis are made up of the top 4 seeds.
GamesOnTheBrain, Djura and Joshuaaaaaa still able to qualify for the first Quarter Final. Last spot in Quarter Final 3 is between marcx and Total_Twit.
Quarter Final
Map: 523 Variant 1
Password: deathmatch
Deathmatch 2 QF A IBX (1) Djura (9)
Deathmatch 2 QF B andyp (5) almondralf (4)
Deathmatch 2 QF C Kanga (3) Total_Twit (6)
Deathmatch 2 QF D Brennus(7) Powermorph (2)
Good Luck all

Looks like Total_Twit won yesterday, so that Quarter final can also get underway. |

congrats to andyp on making the semis.. I predict Djura will join you, probably not for a few weeks though! Djura would have to play better than her usual to challenge you andy.
With no offense to the other players in the top half of the draw, the bottom half is much tougher, and I think that these games are all 50-50.
Before the tournament started I'd have had andyp, brennus, Twit and myself as the top 4, and now to win I may have to beat each of them... ouch! |

Rob,
I mirror your sentiments so good luck, it would make it all the more sweet if one of us went on to win it then!
p.s. just tried creating our game, only to find you'd beaten me to it. |

Thanks Rob - I probably would have Brennus, yourself and Total as the 3 other top seeds too but I've not played that much 2 player - Scoot is a 2 player master, Almondralf is pretty hot and IBX or Dura can certainly beat anyone on their day (early-10 is no pushover too) - sometimes the luck of the cards makes a difference too. I've been kind of lucky in my last two matches against scoot and Almondralf both making crucial errors right at the start.
all these 1/4's are interesting I think and potentially can go either way. |

Well done andyp on making the semi's.
Judging by comments, that's not unexpected, and I know almondralf prefers games with 3 or 4 players.
I was expecting Games to get through to play IBX, and he still might, but Djura has a slight lead at half way (Joshuaaaaaa looks unlikely to turn around the deficit in his matches). I am expecting these matches to catch up when they play IBX as he's possibly the quickest player on the site
The bottom half of the draw promised to be tight, and with both games at the first scoring stage, this is proving to be the case. Kanga would have been my favourite to get through to the final from this half, but looks to have his work cut out in his quarter final.
I'll look to start the semi's next weekend assuming the top half progresses as I hope - if not, the weekend after. |

Yes, Djura should have me in our game. I've been playing poorly lately. Nothing against Djura -- I've just been losing a lot more games than usual. |

Second quarter is over. After I made a hash of the first half, I came back strong..... to lose by 1 point. Congrats to Brennus on a good win. |
