round 6 of the Tikal heads up tournament took a bit longer than expected but i'm happy to report that after 6 months of play we have a winner the good news is we won't we need any playoff games to settle matters

so there it is. Congratulations to Barra(uda, the heads up Beast of Tikal he compiled a superb 10-2 record, winning all 6 of his auction games. i gave it my best shot to catch him and force a playoff but i came up short by 1 point when my game with greg ended in a tie (uda is also one of the hottest players on the Tikal circuit at SBW right now. if you hook up with him in an open game, be prepared for a real struggle

a tip of the hat to Saul for winning both of his games this round, which moved him up to 3rd place overall. and a big thank you to all you guys who made this tournament fun and exciting. most of the games were challenging and many were very, very close. i also want to say "thanks" to Stanislav for hanging in there to the end despite running into a lineup of tough opponents and even tougher luck ~ you gained valuable experience and earned points in my book for being a good sport.

i'd like to start another Tikal tournament after the Thanksgiving holiday here in the U.S. i'm still thinking about the format but will post the details on Monday the 26th, so stay tuned.

OK then, i hope to see all of you back in the Jungle again soon
