Being able to password a game is nice, because it should theoretically allow you to be more selective of the players that join your game of Bus.
However, in order for it to be truly useful a prospective player needs to EASILY be able to contact the owner of the game to establish eligability and obtain the password.
SBW does allow "member's" to PM each other, but there are two problems. You need to have a direct PM link beside the name of the owner in the game listing, because most people just won't go through the trouble of leafing through the "memberlist" to find the creator of a game. The other thing that must be done is a notice on the main screen that appears after you log in, indicating the presence of unread messages. Without these two modifications the password feature simply isn't useful, as evidenced by the number of passworded Bus games that only have their creator listed as a player.
Thank you for your consideration.

An interesting idea. I'd like to think about this a little -- I think making it too easy to PM a game creator will annoy those who are intending on a truly private game among friends (the real purpose of the passworded game). So perhaps in addition to "open" and "private" games, a third type -- the "screened" game where this PM link would appear...?
Any thoughts? |

A "screened game" category would work, and you're right, it might even make more people happy!

I would support a screened category. It would also help people find opponents at their skill level |
