I have over 1200 completed game on this site
as a newbie I joined passworded games with my local game group
and other gamers in eastern Massachusetts
and I was afraid (I should be ) to start games -doh
in my last 900 completeted games -- I have started a minimum of
350 open games -- I can identify these by my game names
my comment line is "all welcome" I don't care for open games
with an attitude
I also join a lot of open games ( they don't stay on the game list long)
and I would guess that number is a minimum of 350 games
I do start some passworded games -- special invites, rematch games,
teaching games, etc
for all the open games I have started or joined -- I have only 14
abandoned games in my profile -- 5 from one user
this is a very small percentage
don't be afraid to start games --
others will join
in the process you will meet and become friends with lots of
great gamers from around the world --
which is the best part about playing on SpielByWeb |

Nice. I like the added line about open games filling up quickly. I think it makes it seem friendlier about creating your own games. |

Yes, the small (but well-placed and highlighted) addition to that page is a Good Thing(TM).
In the nearly 150 games I've completed to date, I think that only about three or four were passworded-games. |

So far, I've only joined a couple of non-password games and in at least one of them, a newbie has not taken a turn for more than two days. The thing that makes these games fun for me is that you can play a board game without all the players being in the same place. The down side is the risk of getting a player that stalls a game. Start up a game up and I'll join in and play as fast as the fastest player. |
