Wow! That's some board! never seen that before.
Without giving any info away to your opponent, I'm assuming that you have the necessary Polyp Tiles and Lava Cubes to be able to make a move, it's just that the game won't let you ?
Will it let you consume a shrimp ?
Is this the first turn where the board is completely full ? If so, I'm wondering if you've found a bug |

Actually that's a missed end game situation.
"The game ends immediately when one of the following events occur: 3. If there is nowhere left to play a polyp tile (highly unlikely)."
The code must not be checking that in the middle of your action and it probably won't let you stop placing tiles because you told it you wanted to play x amount and have only played x-2 or something like that. |

Ah yes. I's so unlikely that I'd forgotten it was an end-game event. Well spotted. |

The code actually never checks for this ending condition (it should very rarely occur, if at all). I will end it and score it "by hand" in the next few days. |

I think we're in this situation in game 18234. |

I have looked at it. What exactly do you want me to do? Can you not play anywhere? Is it frozen? |

Well I think we have reached one of the game ending conditions, but the game has not ended. Can we have this one ended and scored by hand as was done for game 8221? |

So neither of you can play a polyp tile somewhere that would consume another polyp tile? |

Well that's where I wasn't sure about the rules interpretation. In game 8221 there were a lot of places where somebody could play by consuming another polyp tile, but since all of the spaces were occupied the game was ended. The situation here is basically the same. Having never been in this situation before, I wasn't complete sure how the rule was interpreted, but the precedent seems to be that having all spaces occupied counts as an end-game event. |

That game also was played by relative newbies.. so I think there was more to the decision of ending it than just a rules interpretation.
Regardless of what happened with that game, I don't think it's really splitting hairs to say that if you can play a polyp tile (even if you have to consume another to do so) then the end-game condition of "nowhere to place a polyp tile" isn't met. |
