Hi!
This is my second season with my JD E130. Last year, everything went well. I took it out a couple of days ago to clean, flush the deck, reinstall the collector (I used a mulch kit in the fall).
I've had some trouble getting it up and running despite the warm day, but I think a cold start also means it won't work for a few months. It worked, and I completed all of the above tasks, and then walked around the yard for a bit to make sure it worked. Everything was in perfect condition, and it was raining.
I closed the lid again and parked the car.
I went to run it today and it gave me the same starting problem. I tried again and again and reread the instructions as if I was doing something wrong. I opened the hood and looked at the connections, everything looked fine. Although there is quite a lot of garbage there. I checked the oil, and it seemed clean and at the right level. So far, it has only had 7 hours of use. I looked through the maintenance and decided that I would need to change the oil too. The air filter looks pretty shabby.
On closer inspection, I saw a dead mouse on the side of the hood housing. I looked closely, and in the train there is a small paw sticking out. I grabbed a stick and pulled it, and sure enough, there was a dead mouse in the engine itself.
What am I supposed to do here? He's not even a year old yet! I looked around and didn't see any videos on how to take apart the cover of a real engine, which I probably need to do now and catch all the rodent atrocities stuck inside. And then, I suppose, try again?
Any advice is welcome. To take care of. |

It depends where you keep your car. If you keep your car outside, you can just take the mice and throw them away, if you keep the car in the garage, the problem is bigger than you think. There can be multiple nests in your garage, that you don't know about, and they decided to make a new nest in your engine. I would suggest you install some traps, and if you will catch something, that means that my there is true, so you will have to call some professionals that will help you with this problem. It is very hard to get rid of rodents in such places as garages.
