Did you place them touching a market? They have to touch the market directly on placement, not just be in a chain that has already touched a market. _________________ ---------------

Yes I placed them next to a well. I did not get the pesos tho. This game still has many bugs. |

I looked at the gamelog from that game, and your last turn before you posted your original message appears to have been:
Code: |
Vickie Radford places a cow tile at (-1,9). (Tue Aug 08, 2006 7:00 am)
Vickie Radford places a cow tile at (-2,10). (Tue Aug 08, 2006 7:00 am)
Vickie Radford collects 2 pesos for connecting to a market. (Tue Aug 08, 2006 7:00 am)
Vickie Radford buys a pig from the animal deck. (Tue Aug 08, 2006 7:01 am)
Vickie Radford ends his or her turn. (Tue Aug 08, 2006 7:01 am) |
Based on the variant you were playing you received the correct number of pesos for the cow tile placed at (-2,10).
Variant 1 gives income for connecting to markets based on the size of the herd multiplied by the number of land tiles the herd is immediately adjacent to.
In this case you had a herd of size two that was immediately adjacent to one land for a total of two pesos. |

the moves you looked at were not the one I was complaining about. I had a 6 land string and I placed 2 animals. That should have given me 6 pesos. I got none
Thanks

If you could point out in the gamelog which moves you're talking about it would help me get to the bottom of it.
Thanks. |

Even though those 2 horses were CONNECTED to 6 land tiles in the regular game you would get 8 pesos. However, Variant 1 you only get # of animals times # of land it borders on
Quote: | Multiply the number of animals in the herd times the number of lands that the herd borders on. |
So yes you did receive the correct amount of 2 pesos. (2 horses times 1 land that your horses were bordering on or in other words touching).
General Note to all: I don't suggest people play VARIANT 1 until your well acquainted with the regular game. |

Hey Vickie,
MrBass is correct. Remember when I originally mentioned I thought there was a problem with the payment of pesos early in the game? This was the same problem I thought was going on. However, because you chose the scoring variant the rules are different. I had to make adjustments and play quite differently.
At first I thought it was a poor variant but after completing a whole game I really liked it. |

Its a tighter variant. It also makes it so you can win by doing something other than giant land chains. I think it's a more enjoyable way to play once you have your head around it. _________________ ---------------
