I'd vote for games that aren't already readily available on other web sites.
Hacienda was a great addition. |

I whole heartedly agree with this- any game that is on MabiWeb or BSW or Hilinski.net or [the list goes on] isn't as good of a candidate.
Personally, I think Maharaja would be an excellent choice, owing to the relatively granular nature of turns.
I haven't played The Scepter of Zavandor yet, but from reading the rules that seems like a cool choice too. |

I would make a distinction between play-by-web and real-time sites, to me they are very different gaming experiences, I love PBW but don't care much about real-time gaming, and no doubt for even more people the opposite is true. But usually games which work well in one format don't work so well in the other (usually, but there are exceptions).

I agree, it is on my list of good candidates.
Power Grid is often suggested, but the first player to win a plant at the auction would have to wait weeks to take his next turn. |

Having finally had an opportunity to play Tempus, I think it would be a great game for SbW, but the initial board laying could be a tough implementation. Also, the game might be pretty long for SbW, especially with the increasing number of actions per turn and the free actions for cards.
Still, it's a great game, and it would be interesting to see. |

Point well taken about the difference between real-time and PBW. I agree.

Not to mention BSW requires a master's degree to navigate. |

BSW has changed in the past 6 months. It is muh easier. And you can alwasy change the setting so that a lot of it is in English. |

How difficult is it to make a game for SpielByWeb? Is there a framework to follow. I have been programming for 10+ years in web development (yes, the web has been around that long...) and would be more than willing to lend aid to have a few games found nowhere else online here.
I, too, believe there is a huge difference between online PBEM games and the live action games. Some games require a lot of interaction (imagine PBEM Magic the Gathering :shudder: ) and others lend themselves to PBEM. I think games like World of Warcraft would be excellent in a PBEM environment.
If I can help, PM or email me.
Thanks,
Kevin Devine
