Game 16884: Newbies Only II
The entry criteria are clearly stated as less than 4 games but Morrigan has joined and started despite having 118 games under his belt. Please can he be removed to allow a Newbie a chance?
Nothing personal Morrigan but the entry requirements couldn't have been clearer. _________________ It's not the winning, it's utter annihilation of your opponant that matters. |

I'm now racking up a bad rate for turn taking as a result of waiting for a response to this. Can someone in admin please let me know if my request is reasonable before I'm kicked off for abandoning a game. _________________ It's not the winning, it's utter annihilation of your opponant that matters. |

OK - I not from admin -- but I have played a few games on this site
SBW has not removed players that have abandoned games why should
they remove a player who wants to play and does not abandon games ?
I suggest you have some fun and play the game
you can always start another game and try again for a newbies only |

Why not password games if you desire that much control over who joins them? I remember when we first finished Tikal I created a game called "Ryan & Myke" that was the very first live Tikal game on the site. I forgot to password it and someone else (i.e. not Ryan) joined! At first I was kind of upset and thought: "Hey, look at the game title, are you one of those people? No? Then don't join" but then I laughed it off, we played the game and I learned to password games I want any control over...
Have you sent the experienced player a PM? I would consider doing something if he/she consents. |

Looks like I'm in the minority here...but a few parting questions; did I imagine a thread that advised players to stipulate entry criteria for games? Isn't that why the facility is there? If people can just ignore these polite requests what is the point in posting them?
For my 2d it seems very bad gaming ettiquette to crash a game where your profile directly conflicts with the requested entry conditions. As for passwords, how do newbies ring fence a game when they don't know gamers with similar experience? _________________ It's not the winning, it's utter annihilation of your opponant that matters. |

Sorry I missed this last sentence. Yes I have PM'd the player and posted a message on the game but I have received no reply. _________________ It's not the winning, it's utter annihilation of your opponant that matters. |

How useful would it be to add an optional Min and Max games played restriction to the create games page? |

we do not need a min or max games played option
and I think it would cause more problems than it solves
related subject -- a minimum of one game completed to post to the
forum might help with the SPAM problem |

Not to sound like a kiss-butt, but Stargate has a perfect solution to the SPAM issue. Personally I think he deserves a few bonus wins to pad his already impressive stats for the idea...or at least a hoorah.... HOORAH! |

great minds think alike I guess
We had thought of something along those lines... the problem with that is it keeps someone from posting questions like: "How do I join a game?" "Why are all the games passworded?" etc.
Maybe that can be solved by having a FAQ? |
