Ok my macbookpro is in repair so I'm on a slow mac mini 1.25GHz 1GB RAM.

Tikal and Hacienda take quite sometime to load even with cable modem. It takes about 10 to 12 seconds each time. I'm used load times of 3 seconds on my laptop. Ok I got it to load 5 seconds (basically cut load time in half) by setting cache to 0MB in firefox and voila. Default is set to 50MB cache. Hope this tip helps others.

I'd say those with modem connections it won't help (might hurt actually) but those with say at least 512MB RAM and broadband connection should speed things up.

I know my dinky harddrive in the mac mini is only 4200RPM so the less I use that piece of molasses the better the world the place is to live in.

Tips to speed up loading time Hacienda and Tikal are very cool and effective. This tip is well worth learning.
