My wife and 3-years old kid got into a car accident 6 months ago.
My car was rear ended, then push into another car. It back car(fault party) ran away. The other car had barely scratch.

I had un-insured motorist coverage, but CA law required to ID the hit-run car to get re-reimbursement for property damage.
In this case, I was on my own. My car was a total loss. I fixed it, and keep it as a running errand car.

Now my insurance offered my wife/kid for $1200 for pain and suffering.
In the offer, they plan to pay for medical bill (I am still waiting for the paperwork from the hospital).

How should I go about it? Looking for advice.

If there are hospital bills and actual injuries, then do not settle "too quickly".
First, make *sure* there are no rsidual physical problems.
(Whiplash is actually a "real thing", and it can show up delayed. Or there could be other concerns...)
As for the "pain and suffering", chances are that you can negotiate for more, if that was their first offer. They are just hoping you'll "take it".
There is no hurry, given that you don't seem to need the money first.
And NEVER settle until ALL medical bills are "in" and paid by the insurer.
The insurer is not "your friend"; they are a business.
Hope all continues well!

A month ago, I had an accident, too. I was crossing the road and got hit by a car. I didn't get serious injuries, but the pain was very strong. I decided to try CBD oil and was not mistaken. It helped me recover quickly. I recommend everyone to watch the UPDaTED BlOG POst to understand more about the treatment with CBD oil.

If the door was already open (IE you didn't open it into the driver's path) then they were at fault in my opinion. You should get something like best car door protector to protect your car from the damage and yourself from serious injuries.
