In f2f games of santiago there's plenty of interaction during the bribery phase even there, i don't like it when people tell the overseer what he ought to do for the common good (not taking a high bribe from a player who'd profit quite a bit from a certain canal). instead, making a bribe of 1 elsewhere gives the same message without a) making the overseer look stupid, not giving him the opportunity to make a decision of his own (bonus: when he still decides differntly, mourn what he was doing), and b) annoying another player for "revealing" his plans.
Here, this acting seems even less appropriate, since the games are mostly silent. It happened in a current game to me (I was affected, but I felt that it was not right before noticing that it was directed against me). It's legitimate, I don't doubt it, but how do you feel about this? |

I agree with you, in online games (generally) it's not appropriate to offer suggestions or table talk. In FTF games, some people will allow it and others dont. |

My fear is if it is "out-lawed" for people to attempt to influence, then it will go underground, i.e. private messaging. Personally, I would rather know what my enemies are saying then wonder. |

Bkruppa resumed it right, players are just going to find another way to influence a co-player. |

I believe the santiago game rules call for non-binding negotiations. So I don't see how a message in the game is in anyway out of the spirit of the game. _________________ ---------------
