Is it possible to delete (or even abandon) a game in progress if 4 out of 5 players agree to do so? We have one player who has taken more than a week to make each move, and twice he has taken two weeks (including for his latest move). The four other players have, while waiting for the 5th player to make a move, played an entire other Amun-Re game here.

I'm willing to accept that some players play at different paces, and I'm willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt for one very long delay (vacation, work piling up, etc.), but this is really intolerable.

and the slow player in this game has taken up to 3 weeks between turns
I have 3 games with this player and the situation is very annoying

the only hope is that he never returns
or he changes his email address and can't return

a better way for the games to be placed on the abandoned games list is
STOP TAKING TURNS IN HIS GAMES
then after sixty days the games would become abandoned
make the system work for you

Yes, but if we all stop taking turns in that game, won't that also destroy all of our per turn averages? Then we'll look like jerks when we join games for "fast" players even though we are actually fast players.

Just start another game and forget about this one. If it becomes your turn, take it. Eventually it will either finish or abandon, but speed is not of the essence. I notice you only have 4 games on the go. if you had more (say, a screenful) then you wouldn't worry about one game going slow
It happens, don't let yourself get worked up about it. there are other games.
