|
|
I thought I'd organise a 2 player tournament in Hacienda here on SBW. My proposed format is:
Knockout format (so I'd prefer a even number of 8, 16 etc players). Each match consists of 3 games on the same map; an original game, a variant 1 game, and a variant 2 game, to be played simultaneously.
The map will be chosen semi randomly by me (i'm open to suggestions), and all matches in the same round will be on the same map.
The tournament is open to all players. The only request is that you make your moves at least once per day and that you aren't planning any long holidays in the next 2 months.
If you would like to sign up, email me on kanga3@chariot.net.au with your SBW username, or leave your request in this thread with your email address. I'll take players on a first in basis.
In the event of a uneven number of players (ie not 4,8,16 etc) then the players who lose their 1st round matches by the least will make it through to the 2nd round to fill up numbers. |

go on, count me in.
I've not played 2-player before. Are there arey special rules?
As far as maps go, I'd be tempted to stick with the originals. Mainly because we've all seen them before, so no home advantage to the player who's played the map you choose.
Thanks for organising this! |

Jason -- if you were honest your post would have a larger font
Fred -- the custom maps work great for this kind of play
you don't need to know the map
EVIL is a good discription ---in a fun way for these games |

I'd like to join, but I'll be attending Protospiel, a game design workshop in Ann Arbor for 3 days, July 27-29. Is that too long a break? |

Is 3 weeks holiday in August too long?
As I would be knocked out in round one it wouldn't matter!
OK I'll wait for the next one. |
