Following the success of the 2 player tournament, I'd be happy to organise a 4 player tournament. A couple of options exist. Format wise - I think I'd want 16 players exactly. The games could be played with 4 * 4 matches with the 4 winners playing off in a final, or as a round robin (like the Amun Re League), where every player plays 5 games, meeting each opponent once, and a win / loss ratio is used to decide the 4 players for the final. If we follow the latter path, we'd need to decide how many games are played at one (ie do we start all 5 games at the same time - my preference, or play them bit by bit over a much longer time).
The second decision would be what map(s) to use. I'm open to suggestions, we could play it entirely on the original maps, or use other maps that have proved to be fair.
In this thread, please state your preferences for the format. I'll see what people think then post a sign up thread over the weekend with the final format. |

I would prefer to see all preliminary games be simultaneous. That way, there's less chance for "I need to beat player X more than I need to win the game" to arise. (Not that I think that would be a big problem, but it tends to creep into these sorts of things.)
Would you get points for placing, or just for winning?
(I'm interested in playing - even though I'm much worse at 4-player than 2-player.) |

I would be happy to participate and would also prefer to start all 5 games at the same time.
Would there be any V1 or V2 games??
I like Map 65 (CrazyYog_02) for a 4 player game – I think it would work for all versions too!! |

What variant would people prefer? I personally like variant 1 the most, no variants the second. |

I'm interested in joining and playing all at once would be great. I like V2 but V1 and regular are fine too. How about V1+V2 |

on map 65 v1 gives a slight advantage to the first and second players ... can take the slightly protected ends of the map.
Also ... poor stargate hates V1.
So I think either 65 original or V2 or a different map V1 (I actually like V1 best as well). |

I'd like to play. Any map, all 5 prelims at once. I have very little experience with V1, and prefer V2 over standard, but I'll play whatever everyone wants. |

Count me in if there's still room I'm happy to play on most maps (I've not studied them enough to know which are better than others) and prefer v2 as a rule but happy to play whatever. All games at the same time would be best IMHO. |
