|
|
I've had problems getting a response from the site over the last few days.
I'd say about 34 hours during a 48 hour periods, the site wouldn't respond (while I could load all other html pages normally).
Has there been a problem with the site?
Someone from my group, wrote this, but I'm not sure what it means:
Since the site does a re-direct to www.spielbyweb.com, you
need to have the name resolvable. I added an entry to
the hosts /etc/host file.
69.65.96.117 www.spielbyweb.com
to provide the name resolve without going to the DNS server. |

server issues, had to be. I was worried there was some hack attempts or something of that nature. It was down all day, back for a day, then down again. Not sure the entire nature of the problem, but hopefully it's done now. |

Sorry about the downtime!
A change I made to the server configuration had the unexpected side effect of reseting the firewall early in the morning. This blocked access to the nameserver, so while the site was up and running, www.spielbyweb.com wasn't able to be translated into the actual IP address (69.65.96.117), blocking access (except to those who hardcoded the IP address in their /etc/hosts file, or equivalent).
I've found the cause of the problem, so it should not happen again. |

More excitingly, when did you come over this side of the pond? If you fancy making the trip down to the cotswolds sometime for a game gimme a yell!
