Guess I was writing a reply about the same time Bogey was posting his. Sorry for the duplication! |

While points do lean in my favor and have been used consistently, in all fairness to Vinny the intial rules for the tournament state:
"Tie breaks will be decided by the player who has come 1st the most number of times in this round. If this is tied, the number of 1st places throughout the course of the tourney will be counted. If still tied, to be decided as above, counting the number of times players came 2nd. If still tied, the winner will be decided by the players’ average scores over the matches played in the tourney." |

Hi guys.
Woah that was one insanely tight group! And yeah, points go 4, 3, 3, 1 in those cases.
And yep, Bogey's last post is right. I never thought we'd have to go to the nth degree to sort out tiebreaks, but now I'm glad I did set something down. I guess no method is ideal, but I had to choose something and decided to go for number of wins over number of points, a bummer for Bogey but hooray for Vinny!
So the first two contestants to enter the final are smlait and Vinny. Congratulations!
And commiserations to Bogey who actually finished with the most total points throughout the tourney from his semi final group (Bogey 39, smlait 38, Vinny 36 and JM 27). But I guess no rewards for lots of 2nd places
The other semi is about half-done and it, too, is gonna be a nail-biter. Far too close to call. |

So if I understand corectly, Brian moves on from our group along with Sedge? He and I both had 9 points for the round, but he had a 1st and I had 2 2nds.
Not that I'm complaining, given the median score is 10. That would be like a 7-9 NFL team complaining about losing a playoff spot on tiebreak... |

Enjoy lunch with Brian. I'm sure he won't bring up his advancing too many times...l
And if he wins it all......(shudder) |

Yep that's right! Brian continues his perfect run of doing just enough to get through to the next round. |
