What happened in between these actions? Actions taken between can change the armies in cup: some get 'stuck' in Tower as a result of battles between other players that dump the entire cup into Tower, not just participating armies.
The Site Admin can investigage specifics if you put the game name in your messages, also we can look at game logs to see if something is wrong or misunderstood.
Happy Gaming!!

Right. Assuming you're talking about the Year 2 Autumn of that game, that's exactly what happened. With each battle that took place as tm1807 and lonewolf dealt with revolts and attacked each other, your armies from the cup were dropped into the tower along with theirs. Differing numbers stayed in the tower and came out into the cup with each battle, but the total number between the tower and the cup remained the same (until finally you were participating in the battle). |

Keep in mind, the cup is really just the tower. Any of your armies left "in the cup" after someone else's battle or revolt are really just armies to be counted as "in the tower" for your next battle or revolt. You should always count cup armies as tower armies when calculating my attack and defense plans. There may be a small difference in probabilities (whether an army will come out of the tower) between a cup army and a tower army, but otherwise they are effectively the same. |

Cube in 'Cup' is treated differently that cube stuck in 'Tower'. See the Post stream titled 'Tower Simulation' for more.
'Cup' cubes get added to cubes in board spaces that are going into the tower due to a battle. Just like cubes from board spaces, they have a 70% chance of coming out into cup, and 30% chance of getting stuck in tower.
Cubes that start out 'stuck' in 'Tower' (you don't know how many of these there are, unless you've been doing careful, completely accurate math all the way through), have a 30% chance of coming out into Cup and 70% chance of staying 'stuck'. |

It is possible at any point in the game to determine how many of a player's armies are in the tower. Add number on board + number in supply + number in cup, subtract total from 62. T = 62 - (B + S + C)
For your own armies, in the SBW implementation, it's easy to add up the number on board, because the provinces and their armies are listed. For other players' armies, you have to look at the board and make sure you count all their provinces. |
