can you link me to a written format game instruction for hacienda-I'm learning and do terribly if some one verbally gives me directions.

The Rules are on this site's main page, and again from within the game. Is this not what you wanted?
Also (copied from boardgamegeek) :
If you go to the homepage www.yucata.de and click "English version" in the top left corner and then click on Hacienda, you'll get the English rules.
