My gaming group plays Wallenstein here as well as Face to Face. We were talking Sat. at our game day event about the fact that we all hate the basic setup but that the advanced takes the majority of the time here on SpielByWeb. We all agreed that we'd be willing to play the game with a random selection for each player. Is this something that could be setup? |

It should be fairly easy to do (although I'm not sure how satisfying the resulting gameplay will be, since setups could be very unbalanced).
How would army distribution work? Would it also random, or would it let all players simultaneously allocate armies secretly to their randomly assigned provinces? |

I think arm placement should be done all at once after the random provinces are handed out. You won't see who has what armies where until all players have put in their orders.
I know this changes a lot of dynamics on the game but as a group we all came up with the idea and thought it would be like stepping into a already started game and picking up the pieces from there. We liked the idea at least to give it a go and see how it'd pan out. |
