My theory is that this was a clever ploy by the developers to get any slackers who have played dozens of games but have never donated to make them realize what they are missing when this awesome site is not available.
I for one was going into serious withdrawal and was considering some sort of opiate to get me through.... |

I am a Stay at Home Mom, and since the site was down, I had to revert to Eating Bon Bon's |

I too have become addicted to this site. I tried many times to get on and was disappointed I couldn't.
12:40 pm EST on Nov 9th was the first time in a couple of days I was able to easily get on.
Been trying every 30 minutes for the last three days. |

There are no more sites. SpielByWeb is the only one.
This would have been a good ploy, except of course that no one could get to the donation form to donate. Ah well, back to the drawing board... |

While there are other sites, only a few come close to the high standard that SBW has set. Most have mediocre interfaces, slow servers, too few games and/or other drawbacks.
Personally, I only play regularly here, Mabiweb.com, & Yucata.de. I've played sporadically at others, but get frustrated and stop after a bit. |

I come for the people, not just the games. Before SBW i just thought Australia was full of Koalas, kangaroo and Elle McPherson look a likes, now I know there are some half way decent gamers there too... |

For anyone who pays attention to such things - a grand total of 71 people have ponied up so that hundreds can play on this site. Given how many regular players there are, this reminds me so much of Public Radio - except SpielByWeb doesn't bother anybody with annoying membership campaigns!
If it's worth having, it's worth chipping in for. I'm chipping in again. The site needs a mere $85 currently (and can't accept any more). Let's get it to 100% funding folks....
I still have the shakes from the server being offline yesterday... |

Right now, donations are $85 less than Expenses.

Mikael will not accept more money that what the costs are. |
