I will be starting this soon. There are currently 41 entrants and there may be one or two more when it starts but ...

I am unsure what to do in the semi finals.

In tournament 3, the top 25 (with a couple of tweaks) went into the semi final, but that seemed like too many - over half going through.

Clearly going straight to the final 5 is too far and some number between 25 would be better. However no number in between is particularly helpful for organising a fair spread of games.

I have a proposal for 10 players. The top 5 would play 3 games each, places 6-10 two games each and the five winners (or if there are less than 5, the best runners up) go through to the final.

My question is should we have 25 in the semifinal or 10.
