This has been bugging me for a while now...

How are the animals divided up? It doesn't seem like there's an even number of the 4 types in each game.. is that something you can set when you make a map, or is it random, or what?

The 72 animal cards are shuffled. Depending upon the number of players in the game, some of the cards are placed back in the box without further inspection. See the table below to see how many cards are removed.

So in a 5 player game there are 20 animals of each typel

In all other games there are a random number of each animal removed, which obviously leads to inbalances in animal numbers in the game.
