|

In a recent game (#58184) it appears that the "most gold" score was shared between two players. They were indeed tied at harvest, but at games end one player had 2 power cards which converted to gold and thus made him the clear first place getter in gold. I thought most gold was determined last after power cards were taken into account.
So why was it not?
(it made no difference to the result, but curious to know why as I am teaching that player and I am at a loss as to explain what happened)
Thanks for the help. |

From the game page, it looks like one player has 37 gold plus two power cards, while the other one has 39 gold with zero power cards, thus the tie at 39-39.
Power cards that you play at the end are used and aren't sold for one gold each - could that be the source of the confusion? |

In the log, it shows that fungoid actually took the step of "selling" his power cards.
I think the confusion might be there. Power cards do not strictly have to be sold. To clarify when teaching this game, I often say that a power card can be considered to have the power card text... or it can be used as a 1-gold card. We sometimes pay for items with a mix of cash and powercards.
The player with 37+2 power cards actually has 39 gold, he doesn't have to actually sell the cards, each card is considered to be worth one gold, unless played of course. |

Thank you everyone! I overlooked what fungoid did and didn't catch that Pat still had the 2 cards. Cheers for the quick answer! |
