|
|
Season 1s standings will remain as is.
I will be putting out season 2s draw and Bogey, Sedge and Cterrell will get a chance to duke it out again to win Division A!
Here is a poll regarding tiebreakers
There are 3 options
As Is-Wins, 2nd tiebreaker avg pts scored
Wins, 2nd place finishes
Wins, head to head results, pts scored
The draw will be put out this weekend
thank you for feedback on Season 1 |

I have a preference for 1sts 2nds etc and in that this gives you credit for your successes rather than penalising you for your failures. Your worst performance is only counted if you tie someone on all your better performances.
Head to head could cause problems when there is a 3 way tie. A > B, B > C, C > A. You may have to define how it will work futher than you want to think about, as if you don't, that scenario will come up! |

I voted for place finishes - only because that's how I scored things in the tournament I ran.
A first place win was worth 4, a second place showing was worth 3, third 3 and fourth 1. Because of the way the season plays out, average points isn't a bad thing, but because players are playing different sets of 4 in a season, I would go with place finishes before total points. |

Lets wait until the end of the season and then figure out what works best for me. LOL
Points for places is OK, then # of wins, then average points. This seems more fair to the steady player. A person placing 2nd 4 times seems to me a "better" player than someone who place 1st once and 4th 3 times. This is even more true in a non-auction game where you can't influence the choice of tiles.
And a win is a win. Ties should count as a full win, not half. |

I agree with Bogey, but there should be some extra reward for winning. I would use a slightly modified approach to the one sedge used on the tournament before last.
A points based system:
1st 5 points
2nd 3 points
3rd 2 points
4th 1 points
For the tiebreaker, I like Gladitus' approach of using the losing marging in all of the games. Smallest losing margin wins |

3rd 1 points

As long as I can edge Paul out again, it's all good....
I did like Vinny's 5-3-2-1 suggestion.
And thanks again for setting this up.

The standings only remain the same if you consider that a tie is only 1/2 a win.
I'd like to see that changed before we begin the next round. (not retroactively) |

In all the tournaments here, if 2 people tie for first they split the win. I will do the same.(Hacienda, Amun-re, Santiago, Reef etc.)
I am sorry if you don't agree with this, but that is the way the Tikal league will be run.
I can make the league more games and the tiebreaker will not come into play anyway.
Season 2 will be be split into 2 halves 4 games each half.
So The final standing will be 8 games, The cream should rise to the top with 8 games.
thank you |
