Average rounds of games in each division.
A 3.83 (ie 5 in round 4 one in round 3)
B 3.17
C 2.17
D 3.00
E 3.50
I have been happy with the rate of progress in my division (A). It seems quicker than the other leagues (in general - some 3 player games do move very quickly at times).
The other divisions are somewhat slower, especially bearing in mind that divsion A was the last to start. |

For a fast league, why not factor in extra points for speed? That should be quite easy given the actuarial calculations suggested so far for points |

At least one person in my division went on vacation almost immediately after the league started, and just got back. |

The important thing is to finish games in a reasonable time. If players are fast enough (however that is decided) then I don't think they should be disadvantaged compared to 'superfast' players. However, if they are not fast enough then they shouldn't be in the league at all. |

Knave, you knave. You continue to live up to your name. I did not go on vacation. I had an unplanned business trip come up. Sorry that I am not clairavoyant enough for you. Perhaps you can pay me so that I can focus totally on your needs. Goodness knows that you seem to expect it from your accusations. I am actually still on the trip but found this nice little internet cafe which allowed me internet access. So complain less and try to keep a perspective....... |

I left your name out of it, maybe I was referring to somebody else? Guilty conscience?
Also, unless you are doing business in Swat and the Taliban are banging on your door, finding an internet connection isn't very difficult these days... |

Knave my not have been picking on you - I see two names in the division with suitcases next to their names and today as their return date. |

No problem. I do have a guilty conscience for leaving, but not for the games. As much as I like you all (even the knaves among you), I will be gone for Mother's day - and the wife and kids). And as to Internet access.....Knave is right. The only problem is that I don't have a notebook computer. I work for a Dutch company and this company still thinks of a notebook computer as a perk only for senior managers. Not being one of those, and not having one myself, I had to find computer access. And, while you can find it in Europe (as I did), you cannot find it everywhere (believe it or not). Still I did, and I'm playing....so...let's dance. Any real time gamers interested in a game tonight? Also, I am interested in f2f in the Maastricht area if anyone speaks up soon! And, Knave, while I know you were talking about me (no, I haven't forgotten - nor shall I ever), no problems......the worst troller on this site is still better than the best real life non-gamer elsewhere...... |

Doc,
You read me like a book. I am thoroughly enjoying a nice single malt right now and am wishing I was in France with you. So close yet so far.....Some day.......

I'm blushing
(I also do happen to play games between forum trolling... I'm actually half-decent at Amun Re y'know. Real trolls just stir up trouble, I only do it when I'm bored because my playing partners are off in cheap Dutch hotels) |

A couple of games have finished - within 2 weeks of the draw which is good going.
Progress by division is:
A 6.00 (1 finished - round 7, 4 in round 6 and 1 in round 5)
B 5.00
C 3.00
D 4.33
E 5.17
Division C is still behind - I thought I would be able to identify who is slowing things down because the 2 games they are not in would be far ahead of the rest, but there isn't much in it.
I am not sure how to deal with this but I will think on it.
In the meantime it would help me if players could indicate whether they wished to be in next season (current projected draw date 1 June).
I have put up a sign up post here. |
