If you take a turn in a game with user stargate on Saturday, 4/28, be sure to wish Bob "Happy Birthday". He'll be turning 862 (or something close to this). I'd bake him a cake, but I'm afraid his teeth would get stuck in the frosting and pop out.
Happy Birthday, Bob!! |

I guess something had to be done to fix it but changing social security so you get your first check at the age of 107 seems kind of drastic. |

Even with the uncertainty about Social Security's long term funding, you should look seriously at whether starting Retirement payments at 62 is your best bet. The payout each year is much lower if you start at 62 than if you start at 65 or 66, and unless you expect to not last beyond 2019 (which most of us probably will), waiting the extra couple of years will get you much higher payouts every year, and when you hit 75, which you're likely to do, you'll be much happier
Sorry for the long speech, each person's circumstances are unique, but usually, the longer you wait, the better your long term payout stream NPV will be.
Still...
Happy Birthday!!

thanks for the advise lotsa blots
the truth is >>> I am retired from rat race work already
my current job is watching my son's 1-1/2 year old daughter
the financial reward is very bad, the social reward is great
it is also the reason I can play so much on SBW
nap time equals SBW time
plus no long commute to and from work |

So what are the big plans for the Bob-ster?
You heading off to some hot new bingo club with the other 60 year olds tonight and getting wild? Staying up really late until like 8pm or something wiggidy wack like that? Buck the trends. No more early bird dinner at 5pm! Go buck wild crazy Bob! Show 'em what you got for a pork chop! Throw it down baby!
...it sure is fun razzin' the resident old man.
Much love Bob. Have a great birthday. I'm glad you're part of this community my friend...you make it better. |
