It would be nice if this could not be set for the player that writes the last message. For example, when I write a message, then leave the game, the New msg is set for that game. Unless I go back to the game to clear the alert, I will not know if anyone else contributed a message.

What do you usually do when you leave a new message? I just go back to the game before I go on to whatever is next on my to-do list. It's one extra click, but it avoids the problem.

I agree that it's only two more clicks, but sometimes our work connection is very slow, so it's an additional 20 seconds or so. not the end of the world, just a minor nuisance.
