|
|
G'day, Tikal players!
Well, things are pretty dull in the Jungle right now. Only the usual suspects are creating new open games. So I'm going to dust off this old proposal and give it another shot:
Looking for 7 players to join me in a fast single elimination heads-up (2-player games) tournament. One quarter-final round with 4 concurrent games. The 4 quarter-final winners move on to the semi-final round of 2 concurrent games. The 2 semi-final winners play 1 final championship game. Players will be seeded according to number of Tikal wins and will be re-seeded after the quarter final games.
All games will be auction style. I'd like to start the tournament on April 15th, 2015. If every game completes within 2 weeks, the whole tournament will last 6 weeks or less.
OK, let me know if you're interested by replying to this post. First come first served.
It's springtime, be happy _________________ thanks for reading this far, JokeToy |

OK then. The usual suspects are the first to sign up. And nacore is ready to play the auction game . Thanks, (uda and nacore, I knew I could count on you guys!
Now how about the rest of the field? C'mon, give it a try. These tournaments are fun, especially if the players keep up a good pace.
Sign ups will be available here for the next 2 weeks. Looking forward to hearing from 5 more players _________________ thanks for reading this far, JokeToy |

Thanks for your support, Andy, I appreciate it. It looks like only you, (uda and I are ready to sign up for this tournament, so it's not likely to go.
I can't come up with an interesting tournament format for just the 3 of us, so here's my proposal. I'll set up 3 private auction games for Andy, (uda and JT. We'll just play them out at a reasonable pace (one bid and/or turn per day) and whoever wins 2 or 3 of the games earns bragging rights. If we each win 1 game, we'll declare ourselves evenly matched.
Ok guys, please let me know if you'd like me to set up those games. I expect they would be challenging and well fought _________________ thanks for reading this far, JokeToy |

nacore is right. Interest in Tikal is at an all time low right now. Very few people creating open games. Newer players creating some password games to keep the action "in the family" so they don't have to swim with the sharks.
With that said even if no more players join this tourney by the 15th of this month, we now have at least 4 contestants and I can design some kind of tournament format for that size of field. Please stay tuned _________________ thanks for reading this far, JokeToy |
