Common password for "fast player" games is "speedy". Join on in! |

Instead of setting up a password game, then telling us the password, why not set up a non-password game ?
Just a thought. |

Several of us decided some time ago that we would use a "fast player password" -- which was never kept secret to anyone who reads the message board -- as a way to provide some degree of confidence that the game would move relatively quickly. The theory being that slower players will recognize and not enter a "speedy" game where their play speed will not be appropriate. This helps avoid the situation I am in now in one non-password game where the creator specified fast play (I believe targeting a move a day) in the setup text, but one player has taken weeks between moves.
The obvious gaps are that (a) we may miss out on newer players who have not read the board (hence fteplin's message is a good reminder for all); and (b) there is still a risk that a slower player will enter a game just to mess with people. I think (a) is mitigated by the fact that there are non-password games and a new player can create one easily if so desired; and (b) is just not a high probability. |
