I subscribe to PowerDirector 365. Maybe I don't understand my membership, but I thought it included free access to some spare footage. There is a Shutterstock icon in my media library, I click on it and it shows a few videos that I would like to use. But when I hit them, I get a long error message "an error occurred while opening this media file in the media library. This may be because the file is broken, an unsupported format, protected videos content, or for some other reason.

You didn't understand it well. They don't give you anything, it's not a good one to subscribe to.

I just googled the price of the subscription you have, and I think it's crazy. Why didn't they give you any stock footage? For that money, you should get unlimited videos.
That's why it's always worth it looking at all the options you have. For example, you can get stock video footage on the Crello website for free. That's what I do.
Free footage doesn't mean it's bad. You can still make great stuff with it if you're talented. It's a much better option, in my opinion. People got used to subscribing to stuff they don't have to. It's bad because there's a lot of things that aren't worth our money.
