I had called in today to change my novolin-R to humalog (rapid acting insulin) for my diabetes.
They said that my insurance didn't cover it but its on the list on the site so I have to call these jackasses back tomrrow and go through a whole prescription change with the doctor and authorization

Anyone else dealt with this before?
Insulin is a medical necessity to my health and I cannot eat without it, and these assholes could possible keep me waiting for up to a week.

As much as I know, insulin should be covered by your insurance. Only specific cases are not insured.

This is wrong because the insurance policy is required to cover all such situations. I remember a similar situation that happened to me not too long ago. My insurance policy, which I chose carefully and responsibly, helped me pay the total amount for the treatment and medications I needed for that case. I didn't choose the cheapest plan, so you can take a look at it here too: lifeinsuranceblog.net. I think that this blog can give you more answers to the questions that your doctor couldn't answer.
